International Student Work
Welcome
The Methodist Church of Great Britain has been providing services for international students for nearly 50 years. This has been done in a number of ways, but principally by the setting up of international student houses. These have catered for the special needs of international students, and have aimed to be 'Home from Home' to their residents.
The Methodist Church supports the work of Chaplains to Further and Higher Education. Several of these have a particular remit to look after the welfare of international students, for example in Leeds, Manchester and in London, where the chaplain is based at the Methodist International Centre.
The Methodist Church is a member of the Church's Commission on Overseas Students which promotes the care of international students across many of the denominations of the Church in Britain. The Methodist Church is also a member of UKCOSA, (The Council for International Education).
